Making french toast one-by-one can take time, however, a french toast casserole is EASY! You can actually prepare this the night before in your casserole dish then pop it in the oven the next day. We like to top ours with banana slices, real maple syrup, and powdered sugar – enjoy!
  • Eggs – 6 each
  • Bread (Raisin is the Best!) – 6 to 8 slices
  • Milk (or Cream) – 1 cup
  • Brown Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Butter (Melted) – 2 Tablespoons
  • Cinnamon – 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Vanilla – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground Ginger – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt – dash
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. With a whisk or fork, whip the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, ground ginger, and salt together
  3. Melt the butter
  4. In a casserole dish big enough to accomodate your full slices of bread, layer your ingredients like this: 1 tablespoon of butter, about 1/4 of your egg mixture, some bread, brown sugar, then repeat your layers until everything is gone and top with the remaining butter
  5. Cover with tin foil and bake for about 30 mintues, take off cover, and bake for another 15 mintures; enjoy with maple syrup!
You could do this with just about any bread – the less than fresh bread will soak up more of the egg mixture which is good
